It has been said...

"...the events that led me to comprehend that art can transform pain." Roman Polanksi

"Women have a thirst for order and beauty as for something physical; there is a strange female power of hating ugliness and waste as good men can only hate sin and bad men virtue." Chesterton

"The riddles of God are more satisfying than the solutions of man." Chesterton

"To the humble man, and to the humble man alone, the sun is really a sun; to the humble man, and to the humble man alone, the sea is really a sea." Chesteron

"Men do change, and change comes like a little wind that ruffles the curtains at dawn, and it comes like the stealthy perfume of wildflowers hidden in the grass." Steinbeck

"Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket--safe, dark, motionless, airless--it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable." Lewis

"We're not necessarily doubting that God will do the best for us; we are wondering how painful the best will turn out to be." Lewis

Yeah, you are right, it has been almost a month since I last posted. It's the usual excuses: work, broken home computer, lack of creativity and motivation. I find no shame in them, I scratch them indifferently on my flat white chest for the world to see.

That being said, here is my standard too-lazy-to-blog post. It is a little diddy from the greatest rock and roll show on earth. I went to the KISS/Poison concert last night. The music of both bands gets a bad rap. What usually comes to mind is shrieking in neither melodic nor harmonic tones. But to the contrary, they are quite talented musicians. Poison played a number of tunes almost entirely off of their "Best of" album, which was great. It took them a while to get going, but once they did it was kickin'. However, they pale in comparison to the spectacle of a KISS concert. Phenomenal. There really are no words to describe the immensity of it.

"Firehouse" by KISS

She'll adore you and she'll floor you
With her wisdom and her vision
And you'll love it and think of it
Till you lose all intuition
Come on

She can move you and improve you
With her love and her devotion
And she'll thrill you and she'll chill you
But you're headed for commotion

And you'll need her so you'll feed her
With your endless dedication
And the quicker you get sicker
She'll remove your medication

Get the firehouse
'Cause she sets my soul afire
Get the firehouse
And the flames keep gettin' higher
